The Document management System (DMS) improves your way of approach to personalized information. It also enhances your office infrastructure by capturing paper, e-mails, and other files to a central repository. It automates your approval processes and streamlines document work-flow.
Streamlined Mass File Additions – Importation
Existing documents and other types of electronic records from overstuffed and confusing shared network drives and file servers can be quickly imported into the document management software using the drag and drop capabilities. The DMS application supports file safe, simultaneous file transfers of very large files to the library from any local or remote location. The document management software file transfer viewer allows users to see at a glance, the progress of all files being added or retrieved from the paperless office while reporting on any network issues or errors that may have occurred during file transfer. As each document or file is imported, any text information is full text indexed which enables users to use full text and meta tag index searches to find documents in seconds.
Working Document and Record Support
The document management software automatically handles files designated as working documents differently when compared to those designated as records. For example, working documents may be versioned whereas records cannot be versioned because they are a recording of a transaction or correspondence. Similarly working documents can be deleted by users with appropriate permissions whereas records are restricted from anyone other than the system administrator. These document record handling policies ensure that files are handled appropriately.
Document Management System employs the latest software development approach. The application logic with the work-flow engine and the database can be separately run on three different machines. It is developed using .NET and can be deployed on Microsoft SQL, ORACLE and DB2.
